EV charger manufacturers are investing in innovative technologies to deliver more charging solutions for consumers. These companies have a proven track record and can meet your needs.
The Dutch company Allego is actively working towards expediting the availability of public EV chargers. They focus on marketing customer-first features like reliability and convenience.
ABB
The ABB Group makes electrical equipment and industrial robots. Its technology enables utility and industry customers to improve performance while reducing environmental impact. Its divisions include Power Products, Power Systems, Discrete Automation and Motion, and Low Voltage Products.
Its electric motors are used in everything from wind turbines to the FIA Formula E championship car. The company also makes power supplies, solar inverters, modular substations and distribution automation; and products to protect people, installations and electronic equipment from electrical overload. Its other offerings include enclosures, cable systems, control products and wiring accessories.
ABB is a multibillion-dollar multinational corporation headquartered in Switzerland. It was founded in 1891 as Brown Boveri Cie (BBC). Today, it operates in over 100 countries and is a leader in industrial automation and robotics. Its products are used in a wide range of applications, from electricity generation to the production of pharmaceuticals and metals. Its innovation has led to a number of breakthrough technologies, including the invention of the MCB, which prevents dangerous current leakage.
Eaton
Eaton provides energy-efficient products, technologies and services to manage electrical, hydraulic and mechanical power more reliably, efficiently and safely. It serves the utility, governmental, industrial and information technology, automotive, aerospace, machine tools, primary metals and transportation industries.
In keeping with a policy of diversification, Eaton continued to acquire companies that produced products outside the company’s established product lines. This was particularly true in the automotive business, which still provided more than half of the company’s profits.
In 1995, for example, Eaton bought Powerware Corporation, a maker of uninterruptible power systems (UPS), which protect computers and other equipment from power surges. It also bolstered its fluid power division with the purchase of Walterscheid Rohrverbindungstechnik GmbH, a producer of hydraulic tube connectors and fittings. These acquisitions gave the Eaton group a wide range of manufacturing capabilities. But the company also continued to shed operations in which it did not have a strong competitive advantage. These included the sale of its appliance controls division to Siebe plc.
Siemens
Siemens has opened a manufacturing hub in Carrollton, Texas to help meet the country’s growing demand for electric vehicles (EV). The facility is the company’s second EV charger production hub and will contribute to its goal of producing 1 million chargers by 2023. The Carrollton plant will produce the VersiCharge Blue, a Level 2 AC electric vehicle charger that meets Buy American regulations and can be used in offices, hospitals, airports, campuses, and parking garages.
The plant is located near other Siemens facilities that can accelerate the time to market for its EV charging products. These include a plant in Grand Prairie that develops power technologies for critical infrastructure projects, as well as a facility in Wendell, North Carolina that makes fast chargers for eBus and eTruck depots.
The Carrollton facility will also feature a clean room designed for the high-tech electronic assemblies that make up EV solutions. It will be the first of its kind to be built and operated in the US and is a testament to Siemens’ commitment to domestic manufacturing.
Tesla
Tesla designs and manufactures electric vehicles, stationary battery energy storage from home to grid-scale, solar panels, and solar shingles. It also owns and operates the Supercharger fast-charging network.
Tesla’s products have a lot of appeal for consumers, and its business model is very different from the traditional automotive industry. It doesn’t advertise extensively, but every announcement it makes generates global headlines and free media coverage.
The company’s most popular product is the Model 3, a mass-market electric vehicle that can travel over 320 miles on a single charge. It also offers a pickup truck and an SUV that are designed to save owners thousands of dollars over a million miles on fuel costs.
The company also sells a line of lifestyle products, from wireless chargers to surfboards. Last year, it released a limited-edition surfboard with its iconic livery, which sold out within a day. It also has a cool feature that lets drivers change their vehicle’s suspension settings remotely.
