If you need to change the payment method on your iPhone, it’s easy to do. It can be because your card has expired or you’re changing your financial institution.
Apple uses a single payment method for everything you buy with your Apple ID, including iCloud storage, individual apps and subscriptions, iTunes media and more.
1. Go to Settings
You can change your payment method for subscriptions, purchases from the App Store, and other Apple services through the Settings app on an iPhone. This is particularly useful if your credit or debit card has expired or you want to add another payment method.
To access the settings on an iPhone, swipe right from the Home screen or lock screen and look for an icon that looks like a gear. You can also use Today View, which will allow you to search for the settings you want to change on your device.
Once you find the Settings icon, tap it to open the Settings app. You can then select the section you want to edit and change your settings.
In the Payment & Shipping section, you can change the primary payment method for the App Store and iCloud+. This can help you avoid overdraft fees and other financial problems by making sure you have enough funds to pay for your purchases.
When you make changes to your primary payment method, it will automatically update for all other Apple products and services that accept payment through the App Store and iCloud+. You can always delete the old payment method if you no longer need it.
You can change your payment method in Settings on an iPhone, as well as on a Mac and Windows PC. If you are changing your payment method for iCloud+ and iTunes, it is recommended that you update your information with your financial institution so that it will be correct and accurate.
If you are a Family Sharing family organizer, you can also change the payment methods that your family members use to purchase apps and other goods on the App Store. This is especially helpful if your family is using a shared iTunes account and you want to ensure that all of the purchases are made with the correct payment methods.
You can also edit your payment methods on your Mac or Windows computer, though it may be easier to do this in the App Store. For more details, kindly visit this Support article.
2. Tap on iTunes & App Store
If you need to change your payment method on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, you can do so through iTunes & App Store. This is an easy way to update the billing information you use for subscriptions like iCloud+, Apple Music, apps from the App Store and other Apple media purchases.
The information you provide when you buy apps, movies, TV shows or other products from the App Store is linked to your Apple ID. This allows you to pay for these things using your credit card or another method of payment.
When you change your payment information, Apple may place a temporary authorization hold on your credit card to verify the changes. This is because it does not want to overcharge you or make unauthorised charges.
However, you can get around this problem by adding a new credit or debit card to your Apple ID before you remove the old one. This is a great way to prevent any unwanted purchases from being made with your old card.
On your Mac or PC, you can also change the billing information for your iTunes and App Store purchases by opening the iTunes program, signing in with your account password (or clicking the View My Account button if you are already signed in), and selecting Edit to the right of Payment Type on the Account Information screen.
Once you have updated your payment information, you can continue to make purchases from the App Store, buy music, apps, movies and iCloud storage using your new card. You can even add your PayPal account to your Apple ID so you can pay for these services without having your credit card information on file with Apple.
You can also change your payment information on your iOS device through Settings > [your name] > iTunes & App Store. This is an alternative to changing your payment information through Apple ID and iCloud for Windows, but you will need an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to do so.
3. Tap on Apple ID
When you sign in to apps, movies, books, and other content on your iPhone or iPad, you need to have a credit card or PayPal account linked to your Apple ID. This allows you to make purchases using your Apple Pay feature, and it also helps to ensure that your payment information is secure.
If you need to change your Apple ID payment method, you can do so directly from the iOS app. In some cases, however, you may want to use a computer for this task instead.
You can also access this feature through System Preferences or iCloud for Windows on a PC. You can also edit your payment information on the web.
To update your payment method in Settings, you’ll need to enter your Apple ID and password. You can also add a new card by entering the cardholder name, card number, expiration date, and CVV code.
Alternatively, you can remove a card by tapping the red delete button next to it. If you need to remove a card, make sure that it isn’t the default card and it matches the information you have on file with your financial institution.
Another reason you might want to change your Apple ID payment method is if you have Family Sharing turned on and purchase sharing is enabled. With Family Sharing, you can manage all of the payments for your family members from one place.
By changing your Apple ID payment method, you’ll be able to ensure that your purchases are charged to the right card. In addition, you’ll be able to prevent your family members from accidentally purchasing things that they shouldn’t.
In addition, if you change your payment method, your Apple ID will be updated to reflect that change. This will also help to ensure that your subscriptions, such as iCloud+ and Apple Music, as well as apps from the App Store, are paid for on time.
4. Tap on Manage Payments
If you want to change your Apple ID payment method, you can do so easily on an iPhone. It’s a great way to keep your credit and debit card information updated so that you don’t have any problems when paying for subscriptions or purchases from the App Store, iTunes Store, iCloud Storage and more.
It’s also easy to update your billing address. Just log into the App Store and open your user profile, then select Manage Payments to update the billing address associated with your credit or debit card.
You can also add a new card by clicking on Add Payment Method and entering your name and billing address. After that, tap Done to save your changes.
The next time you use your Apple ID to buy something, it will charge the new card based on its details. You can also remove the old one if you don’t want it to be used anymore.
Whether you’re a business owner or a student, if you want to make your payments on your iPhone, it’s easy to do. Just enable the feature in your Lightspeed Back Office and accept contactless credit or debit cards, digital wallets and Apple Pay through a simple tap on the screen.
This feature uses the same secure technology that Apple uses for its own mobile payment solution, so all of your customer’s data is safe and protected. When a customer taps their card or mobile device on your iPhone, the payment is encrypted using Apple’s Secure Element, which means no one can see their payment information.
Your customers can then tap their contactless card or mobile device to make a payment with your POS, and the transaction is processed by Adyen.
This is a beta feature that’s currently only available in the US, so reach out to your account manager or sales rep if you’re interested in adding it to your business.
